    Dear Arizona Fencers,

I am pleased to have been elected as your chairman this year. For your information the other officers from last year were re-elected.
    - Vice Chair Glen Walker
    - Secretary Dolly Donovan
    - Treasurer Daisy Flores

As previously posted before the elections this is what I would like to focus on during this season:
Encourage and promote regular in-state tournaments
Facilitate timely communications of events and news
Improve the number and ranking of referees through clinics
    Promote inter-club cooperation
Encourage participation in Arizona tournaments by out-of-state fencers
Promote fencing programs in Middle & High schools

You will be hearing more as the year unfolds as to what we are doing to make progress on these general areas of action. If anyone is interested in assisting us please contact any of the officers either by e-mail or come and talk to us at any of the upcoming tournaments.

We are currently finalizing the schedule of tournaments up until December 2007 which will be published shortly on the web.

I would like to remind all fencers that the division website at www.azfencingdivision.net is a rich source of information about all aspects of fencing in the Arizona Division and I encourage you to check it frequently.

I look forward to an active and exciting season, and, along with the other officers, I would like to extend our best wishes to you,

    Pia Douglas

    Chairman
